Six pieces, one order: armchairs, a three-seat sofa, ottomans, and a storage table. That is the appeal of this Rattaner set for anyone furnishing a bare patio, because it replaces the usual scramble for a sofa, side tables, and somewhere to put the cushions. The frame is powder-coated steel under all-weather wicker, and the seat cushions are four inches thick with an anti-slip base. We also like that furniture covers come in the box; seasonal shutdown is easier when you are not shopping for five separate covers.
What sold us on it as the default is the combination of seating and hidden table storage. The storage table gives cushions, throws, or small patio items a place to land, so the set does not need a separate deck box parked beside it. We think the four-inch cushions are the right call for a conversation set: deep enough to sit through dinner, with zip covers that come off for cleaning. The anti-slip dotted fabric under the seat cushions is a small detail that matters on a windy deck.
Against the compact loveseat and the pouf set, this is the one for a patio that needs to seat a group. The wicker-and-steel frame looks more substantial than resin, and the covers make the whole arrangement easier to leave out through the shoulder seasons. The table storage is what makes the set feel resolved rather than improvised. We kept coming back to that point when comparing the three.
